DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of National Unity Day\, HUNINEU\, the Office for the Representation of Hungarian National Communities and Balassi Institute is organising a panel discussion about the state of affairs of Hungarian national communities\, complemented by a musical programme. The discussion will touch upon the current situation of Hungarians living in Upper Hungary\, Transylvania\, Vojvodina and Zakarpattia Oblast\, tackling the different problems experienced by these communities\, and exploring the opportunities through which Hungarians living in these separated regions could establish a positive\, liveable and flourishing future for themselves.\n\nParticipants of the panel discussion:\nPál Csáky\, Hungarian engineer from Slovakia\, politician and writer\, member of the European Parliament\nAndor Deli\, Hungarian politician from Vojvodina\, member of the European Parliament\nGyörgy Kota\, director of the Hungarian-Ukrainian Chamber of Trade and Industry\nAnna Magyar\, vice-president of the General Assembly of Csongrád County\, member of the European Committee of the Regions\nLóránt Vincze\, Hungarian journalist from Romania\, politician\, president of the Federal Union of European Nationalities\n\nModerator:\nZsófia Villegas-Vitézy\, director of Balassi Institute Brussels\n\nThe panel discussion will be held in English.\nThe programme will be complemented by a folk concert by Júlia Kubinyi and her fellow musicians.\n\n\n\nFúdd el jó szél\, fúdd el… - The Hungarian Folk Music of the Pannonian Basin\n\nThe concert of Júlia Kubinyi folk singer and her fellow musicians aims to give insight into the diversity of Hungarian folk music and to highlight the characteristics of the music of each region.\n\n\n"To me\, Hungarian folk music is the dearest of all\, and folk singing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. The thoughts and feelings expressed in folk songs are equally relatable and relevant to the people living today.
